MILAN — If you’ve ever had a coffee anywhere in the world, chances are Josh and his team had something to do with it. Over fifteen years, Josh Dick transformed Urnex, a small family business established by his grandfather in 1936, into a global market leader in the coffee industry with customers in over 70 countries and distribution facilities on three continents.
In the process, sales grew more than 25 times while earnings multiplied over 275 times.
The company is a specialist in making cleaning products for coffee machines. The range of its products goes from very traditional powders for cleaning espresso machines to tablets for fully automatic coffee machines, as well as milk system cleaners.
After the sale of the business, Josh moved to Florence, Italy, where he now lives with his wife and three daughters.
Josh has a B.A. in Political Science from Yale College and an M.B.A in Marketing and Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Along the way to building brands within the world of coffee machine cleaning products, Josh worked in investment banking for Salomon Brothers and in marketing for Unilever Home and Personal Care.
