Today, with Univerciok, the Group’s instant drink portfolio effectively and creatively meets the requests of customers in the Horeca, Vending & OCS and Retail sectors, addressing the need to extend their product range.
What is the common thread?
Quality, as Giovanni Ventura, founder and leader of the Research & Development Instant Division team, tells us: “Univerciok was established almost forty years ago as a family-run company and it has grown significantly thanks to our ongoing commitment to quality, which has always been appreciated by our customers.
True to our principles, great care is taken in all stages of production. Quality is a core value in every decision taken by our Research & Development Department, ranging from selecting ingredients to formulating the drink mixes.
Thanks to the support and substantial investments provided by Gimoka, today within the Group we can offer an even better quality/price ratio, by selling large quantities of beverages, thus entailing greater efficiency.” In recent months, production capability has also been enhanced by adding new special-purpose machinery for processing milk-based instant products.
The Vending & OCS sector is now undergoing significant developments. This is particularly true in the area of ‘smart’ vending machines, which now allow you to offer services and drinks that were unthinkable just a short while ago. The vending machine business is no longer perceived as being less “important” and there is more room for high-calibre, fragrant and flavourful products.

“For example,” continues Ventura, “for the vending sector we offer a classic chocolate flavoured drink without vegetable fats and glucose syrup. This is usually a premium range product, which we can however sell at a very competitive price because we choose our raw materials carefully, but also thanks to production processes we have fine-tuned over the years and constant innovation in our working methods and industrial plants.
Another example is our deliciously aromatic lemon tea, which we have always sweetened with high quality, fine sugar that dissolves quickly, even in cold water.”
In the chocolate range, an area in which Univerciok has extensive know-how, top quality cocoa powders (containing 22%-24% cocoa butter) are used to make tasty, creamy drinks.
“Our range of Vending & OCS chocolate drinks features a cocoa content ranging from 8,5% to 30%, in various types of beverages for specific markets.” adds Ventura. “We already have a good level of market proposals, however, we intend to further improve our offer, for the benefit of consumers, of course.
We aim to achieve this by developing a rich beverage menu that will include new products, such as Nocciolino, Irish Cappuccino, cappuccino with dulce de leche and functional drinks containing herbal extracts.”
Univerciok, a leading brand in the Horeca channel, offers a wide chocolate drink menu with over 30 products, including the organic versions, a broad range of flavoured instant coffees and other instant drinks as well as a large assortment of “cold” products, such as cold creams, so-called “cremini”, chocolate, ice creams, yoghurt in a wide selection of flavours and toppings.
