BOGOTA, Colombia – With National Coffee Day on September 29 and International Coffee Day on October 1, there is certainly reason to celebrate. As part of the celebrations initiated by the International Coffee Organization (ICO), the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC) decided to play an active role in both occasions by seizing the opportunity to educate consumers and connect them to coffee growers through a series of meaningful initiatives.
In order to create an emotional connection between consumers and growers, the FNC produced a video in which coffee growers were asked a series of questions about how they envision their product is consumed around the world.
This series of inspiring and enlightening testimonies is now being aired so that people from all over the world can appreciate the often-ignored work and connection that exists between those that produce and those that consume coffee. The video is released in celebration of National and International Coffee Day across Café de Colombia’s social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter.
In addition to the release of this video, Café de Colombia kicked off Coffee Week by partnering with FoodieChats, which is the largest online social foodie community, to host an informative, engaging and interactive Twitter chat last night.
The chat’s focus was “Behind the Bean” and it drew an impressive crowd of people who were eager to learn more about Colombian coffee and the growers behind it all. Check out some of the highlights from last night’s chat by following @FoodieChats and @CafedColombiaWW on Twitter and by tracking the hashtag #CelebrateCoffee.
“National and International Coffee Day present valuable opportunities to shed light on the coffee industry and more specifically on the coffee growers who pour their dedication and passion into the work that they do to deliver a high-quality product to consumers around the world,” said Luis Samper, Chief Communications and Marketing Officer of the FNC.
With the support of the International Coffee Organization and other key stakeholders, the FNC will continue to highlight and honor the hard work of Colombian coffee growers throughout the month, so continue to check out their website and social media channels for new content including inspiring photos, videos, quotes and more.
