PORTLAND, Oregon – Coffee Fest, a tradeshow for specialty coffee since 1992, is coming to Portland, Oregon, at the Oregon Convention Center on October 17-19, 2014.
Many of the industry’s finest brands will be exhibiting alongside regional and local companies. Coffee Fest Portland is gearing up to host this year’s final rounds for America’s Best Espresso and DaVinci Gourmet’s America’s Best Coffeehouse.
Both, America’s Best Espresso Competition, and America’s Best Coffeehouse are conducted thrice annually for three regions of the United States and Canada (East, Central and West).
Every coffeehouse/café and every roaster in America and Canada are welcome to participate by applying to compete at the Coffee Fest in their region.
There are three winners chosen from each region and the first place winners (Coffeehouse) and the top four (Espresso) are moving on to the national competition in Portland this October.
In America’s Best Espresso competition, contenders go head to head pulling their best shot of espresso to impress the judges. For DaVinci Gourmet’s America’s Best Coffeehouse Competition the six regional champions will come together with each of the six serving the customers and judges on Friday and Saturday.
The top three will earn a shot at the championship with first, second and third places being determined by the competition on Sunday.
David Heilbrunn, show manager of Coffee Fest, commented that, “America’s Best Espresso and Coffeehouse have both proved to be invaluable learning experiences for all the competitors that have participated at the six qualifying shows.”
“The educational opportunity really ratchets up in Portland for the audience, cafes and roasters who will certainly pick up ideas, pointers and aha moments with nothing but these champions squaring off in Portland.”
Competitors and judges have worked hard this year to be and find the best in these competitions.
Coffee Fest Portland will show who the best in the nation is.” Come be the first to know who has America’s Best Espresso and the Best Coffeehouse in all of North America!

About Coffee Fest
Coffee Fest has been celebrating coffee long before coffee was “hot”. In 1992, they gathered coffee professionals together in Seattle for their first coffee festival.
After several years of hosting thriving consumer events, Coffee Fest turned its focus toward the specialty coffee, gourmet tea and alternative beverage industry bringing retailers, distributors and manufacturers together for its first retail “trade only show” in 1998.
With a mission to help attendees build and refine their specialty coffee businesses, they coupled a relevant educational program with a friendly, informative, and enjoyable trade show floor creating a successful show that serves as a touchstone for many in the specialty coffee industry.
Today Coffee Fest produces three trade shows annually, strategically positioned in Atlanta, Chicago and Portland.
