MILAN – Between eco-friendly materials, the return of formal dining, and artisanal innovation, tableware is growing at double-digit rates and finds in HostMilano 2025 its international hub, with the voices of leading brands.
The table dresses in nature, tactile textures, and colors that recall the earth, transforming itself from a simple backdrop into a stage that enhances the gourmet experience. From hand-crafted porcelain to reinterpretations of glass, to the major comeback of silver in contemporary forms, tableware follows the path of a foodservice world increasingly focused on design and sustainability.
The “imperfections” of artisanal style become a value, while dark tones such as deep blue or forest green stand alongside natural palettes of terracotta and sand, in a play of contrasts that captures the eye and tells a new way of understanding hospitality.
From aesthetic research to growth numbers
Behind the aesthetic research lies a market in full expansion. According to Grand View Research, the global tableware sector will reach $60.4 billion by 2025, growing at an annual rate of 6%. This is not just about aesthetics or design trends, but a sector that moves significant numbers and proves increasingly central to the world of hospitality.
Driving this growth in particular is the Ho.Re.Ca. channel, where tableware is an integral part of the customer experience. The global commercial tableware services market, according to Data Bridge Market Research, is worth $7.45 billion in 2024 and will reach $17.42 billion by 2032, with an average annual growth rate of 11.2%. Figures that confirm how the table today is much more than a layout detail: it is a universal language, capable of speaking about sustainability, quality, and innovation on par with the cuisine it frames.
What are the key players focusing on?
To confirm how these trends do not remain only on paper, but find concreteness in brand strategies, are the voices of the companies that choose Host 2025 as their privileged stage.
“For us HostMilano has become an essential appointment, not only for traditional European markets, but also for Eastern Europe and the Balkans, the Americas, the Gulf countries, and Asia,” says Matthias Delrue, Southeast Europe Director of Arc Adriatica. “At the heart of our global market approach lies Made in Europe, a core value for us, combining tradition with innovation and sustainability. The latter has always been part of our philosophy, thanks to the durability of our products, and today it is also expressed in a 2030 plan that extends to production methods.”
“Arc Group has always set the trends in glassware,” adds Delrue, “and we are delighted to preview our 2026 innovations at Host precisely in the year we celebrate our 200th anniversary.”
From glass to silver, at HostMilano 2025 tableware takes multiple forms and materials. “We are a historic German manufacturer that has been producing high-end silverware since 1874,” explains Thomas Kettnaker, Export Manager of Robbe & Berking, “addressing a premium professional clientele such as five-star hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants. From our perspective we observe a return to formal dining, with a demand for highly durable settings and therefore timeless styles, for example inspired by the great contemporary classics of the 1960s. We are also seeing increasing demand for dedicated products for suites and VIP lounges, as well as innovative items such as our silver gourmet spoon for particularly refined presentations of original and creative recipes.”
“In this context,” concludes Kettnaker, “we are returning for the second time to Host Milano, because it allows us not only to grow the Italian market but also, thanks to the exhibition’s global recognition, to implement our internationalization strategy towards expanding markets such as North and South America or Asia.”
Also present at HostMilano 2025 will be Ginori 1735, for three centuries one of the world’s leading luxury and lifestyle brands, an expression of Italian excellence in pure porcelain and design, where high-tech technology supports a savoir-faire born of centuries-old artistic mastery.
Today the world of Ginori 1735 is shaped by a multiplicity of voices and stylemes, reinvesting the legacy of the manufactory in the vision of new generations of style masters, able to bring art into daily life and daily life into art. Ginori 1735 relies on a distribution network that includes stores in Florence, Milan, Paris, Seoul, and London, and is present in some of the most prestigious outlets in Europe, America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. The brand can also count on important partnerships with some of the most prestigious luxury hotel chains and the most refined restaurants worldwide.
With its ability to bring together under one roof the excellence of design, manufacturing, and innovation, HostMilano 2025, at Fiera Milano from 17 to 21 October, confirms itself as the global reference point also for tableware.
