STOCKHOLM –  In 2014, the Swedish consumer magazine Råd & Rön will carry out an international review of the sustainability work of coffee suppliers, something that the coffee roaster Löfbergs welcomes.

– It is great! Examinations of this kind throw light on an area that is very important to us as well as to our suppliers and consumers, says Eva Eriksson, sustainability manager at Löfbergs.

Answer sent by return post

The review of Råd & Rön is carried out together with the magazine’s European sister organizations.

There will not be a secret review; leading operators have been contacted and asked to participate.

For the companies that possibly do not want to cooperate, the review will be based on open documents and third-party sources.

– We let them know by return of post that we will participate. Transparency and openness is a matter of course in our sustainability work.

For example, we publish our own sustainability report, where we describe how we are taking responsibility for people and environment – from bean to cup. Naturally, the report can be downloaded from our website, says Eva Eriksson.

Independent and free from advertisement

The magazine Råd & Rön is owned by The Swedish Consumers’ Association and carries out independent tests and reviews of products as well as producers.

Råd & Rön is completely free from advertisement and is not bound to any commercial interests.
