MILAN, Italy – With the launch of “The House of Coffee”, Starbucks has officially entered the world of high fashion and technical lifestyle. Launching at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery during Milan Fashion Week, this ambitious project reinvents coffee as a true cultural ritual.

Under the artistic direction of Sarah Andelman, the visionary behind the iconic Colette concept store, the initiative treats the brand with the aura of a luxury label.

As Esther van Onselen, VP Brand and Customer Experience, explains, the project ‘approaches the brand as a fashion house would — where what we create can be worn, collected, displayed, and not just consumed.’

The very first winter collection features technical ski equipment by Nordica, recycled K-Way raincoats and luxury Poldo Dog Couture pet coats, all enhanced with exclusive character illustrations by illustrator Lucas Zanotto.

The six-week activation will culminate in “The Apron Project,” a charitable collaboration featuring custom designs from fashion icons including Plan C’s Carolina Castiglioni and Vogue Italia’s Francesca Ragazzi.
