Scooter’s Coffee announces Grand Opening with a cause in Wayne, NE

Scooter’s Coffee

WAYNE, NE, U.S. – Scooter’s Coffee is celebrating the company’s first location in Wayne at 527 East 7th Street by giving back to an important cause. On Friday, January 22, the new location will host a Grand Opening celebration and donate 100 percent of proceeds from the day to Nebraska-based TeamMates Mentoring, whose mission it is to impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential through mentoring.

This location is managed by Wayne local, Diana Badley. “TeamMates Mentoring Program is near and dear to my heart,” said Badley. “I passionately believe in their mission and the opportunities they are providing the next generation. With January being National Mentoring Month, I couldn’t think of a better way to give back to the communities surrounding our store!”

TeamMates was founded by Dr. Tom and Nancy Osborne in 1991 with 22 University of Nebraska-Lincoln football players and 22 Lincoln middle school students. The TeamMates Mentoring Program was formalized as a statewide program in 1998 and now serves chapters across five states.

“One of the great strengths of TeamMates is our local partnerships,” said Sarah Waldman, TeamMates Executive Director. “We are grateful to Diana and Scooter’s for supporting local TeamMates programs through their grand opening. This is a fantastic way to support a local business while also supporting TeamMates.”

In addition, on Grand Opening day, customers who pay or scan for loyalty on the Scooter’s Coffee mobile app will earn 50 bonus smiles! With the app, customers earn 3 “Smiles” for every dollar spent, and once they reach 180 Smiles, they earn a free drink. All customers start in the Scooter Doodle status level, with perks that include a free drink on their birthday and surprise rewards, exclusive to the mobile app only. After earning 500 Smiles, customers move into the Caramelicious® status level with additional perks.

Since the store’s opening on December 7, the Wayne community and surrounding towns have already shown up in full-force.

“Brooke and I are blown away by the support and encouragement we have received from everyone!” said owner Nate Lindley. “We are proud to be a part of this community and grateful for our team and our loyal customers. Being able to give back to a community that helped us get off the ground is a value we share and privilege we embrace.”

Scooter’s Coffee is a drive-thru franchise that has been serving world-class coffee for more than 20 years and has over 300 locations in 19 states across the nation. With commitments to build new stores in 24 states, the company plans to open many additional locations in 2020.
