ELIZABETH/NEWARK, NJ, USA – Last year in one of the busiest airports in the United States, Liberty International Airport (EWR), the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey opened a brand new state of the art terminal. Munich Airport NJ, the operator of the terminal, designed a space that reflects a true feel of its home in New Jersey for all of its guests. They incorporated different components of the local history, cultures, environments, and even included local businesses.

The $2.7 billion Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport took another huge step toward completion last week with the opening of seven additional gates.

In addition, six more concession and retail offerings have opened, including Jersey Mike’s; Newark-based Law Coffee

WB Law Coffee Co. was founded in 1909 by Walter Law in his father’s garage in Dunellen, NJ where he began delivering coffee to his neighbors. 114 years later it’s now being operated by the 5th generation of his family. Through the past century they have been involved in importing, roasting, manufacturing & delivering coffee throughout the East Coast.

They’ve specialized in supporting the coffee programs of thousands of retailers, foodservice businesses, private label programs, but more recently they designed and built out their “Ironbound Cold Brew” Coffee brewery.

Munich Airport NJ selected the WB Law Coffee Co brand to help build out a local café concept to bring a true local NJ coffee concept to the terminal. This enabled WB Law to expand their business model, and open their very first retail name-branded concept.

“It’s an honor for my team and I to expand the company my Great Grandfather founded over 114 years ago. Each generation that led the company has left an indelible mark during their tenures and I’m hoping that this is only the beginning of many new endeavors for my team and I., “ says David W. Mendez, CEO of WB Law Coffee.

David acquired the business in 2020 from his father(also David Mendez) among many things, masterminded the branding and expanded their footprint during his tenure. Mendez says, “Our office has been in Newark, NJ since the 1920s and we’re right next to the airport- we see the planes fly directly over our warehouse every day. So it’s a proud moment for our us to be a finally be a part of the airport and have our product properly represented in such an impressive transportation hub.”

Mendez states that, “Our operating partner, SSP and I developed our concept to reflect an early 1900s architectural feel complete with a wall mural of our company’s history. Our menu serves pastries and prepared foods that reflect the flavors of the local café scene.

The coffee menu, intentionally is simple but contains complex flavor profiles that are well centered, thus providing an experience that all guests of the terminal can enjoy.
