FLORENCE – La Marzocco has renewed its commitment to supporting the Hands for Songwa Foundation, a natural evolution of the Songwa Estates Project carried out by La Marzocco with its partners Probat and Mahlkonig from 2007 to 2023.
Now that the Hands for Songwa Foundation is an independent entity eligible to receive direct donations, La Marzocco supports this small local organization through initiatives that increase its visibility and enhance outreach to the public, encouraging active involvement in concrete actions to improve living conditions in villages near the Songwa plantation.
The Hands for Songwa Foundation recently renovated its official website to provide greater transparency into its objectives and mission, and to share its progress, past initiatives, and future projects. Each project has been made possible by the generosity and commitment of those who have donated the funds needed to finance it.

For this reason, La Marzocco wishes to draw the attention of its community to the goals achieved and raise awareness among all its employees about the living conditions of those who work at the beginning of the supply chain.
For this purpose, La Marzocco organizes an annual trip to the Songwa plantation for company employees and industry partners, so that they can learn more about coffee cultivation and gain a deeper understanding of the daily lives of the people living in the villages of Mbeya and Utengule and the surrounding areas.

During the “Out of the Box” event held in Milan in October, La Marzocco invited attendees to collaborate on a collective art performance titled “Hands for Songwa” by artist Palazziclub, raising awareness on the cause and giving a voice to its work and values through artistic expression and engagement.
The Hands for Songwa Foundation’s new projects for 2026 are already taking shape. They will also include the construction of a new school building in the village of Ihombe, a community located on the edge of Mount Mbeya Peak. The new classrooms will meet the needs of the ever-growing school population, and the new building will genuinely make a difference by offering spacious and renovated facilities.
