Walk through the Forbidden Forest and choose your house at Hogwarts, all without leaving Dubai.

The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature and Costa Coffee Open Door Series brings you a magical night to celebrate the world of Harry Potter and his wizarding friends at the Harry Potter Book Night on February 5.

DVG De Vecchi

The Book Night is an international retrospective of J.K. Rowling’s best-selling children’s fantasy series and will be held at the Dubai International Writers’ Centre, Al Shindagha Historical Neighbourhood.

“We are bringing magic to Dubai!” said Isobel Abulhoul, CEO of the Emirates Literature Foundation and Festival Director of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature.

“The Harry Potter series has had such an impact on children around the world, as we can see from phase 1 of our on-going UAE Favourite Books campaign where the series came out on top.

This is an amazing opportunity for readers of the book, children and adults, to relive the excitement of the books while introducing the series to new readers.”

Enjoy a mug of Pumpkin Juice and grab those chocolate frogs before they run away as Al Shindagha Historical Neighbourhood is transformed into Hogwarts.

Remember which password opens which door and join an exciting treasure hunt that takes you through the lanes of ‘Diagon Alley’. Think you know the books and films by heart?

Test your knowledge of the Harry Potter world at our quiz. Dressing up as your favourite Harry Potter characters will complete the experience and is strongly encouraged!

Registration for the Book Night is open now on the Festival website, https://www.emirateslitfest.com/harry-potter.

The Open Door Programme, sponsored by Costa Coffee is held during the winter months in the Festival’s home at Dar Al Adaab in the Al Shindagha Historical Neighbourhood. The picturesque heritage area is a perfect setting for the myriad events that make up the Open Door Programme.

The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature 2015 will take place in Dubai from 3 to 7 March under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and in partnership with Emirates and the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage. The Festival is now part of the Emirates Literature Foundation, which was established last year by Royal decree.
