MILAN – Gruppo Cimbali, known worldwide for its design and production of professional espresso machines, formalizes its commitment to support the growth of the coffee industry in the Southeast Asian region, becoming a founding corporate partner of the ASEAN Coffee Institute.

Thanks to this partnership, Gruppo Cimbali – under the Faema brand – marks its commitment to support the rapid growth of Southeast Asian coffee nations, especially now that Singapore is becoming one of the main coffee hubs in the area. In addition, two of the world’s largest coffee growers, Indonesia and Vietnam, are members of ASEAN, signifying a symbolic step forward for Gruppo Cimbali in expanding on the strategic markets of this geographical area.

The ASEAN Coffee Institute

The ASEAN Coffee Institute (ACI) is an educational coffee training body formed by the ASEAN Coffee Federation (ACF) that establishes coffee quality standards while simultaneously promoting sustainability practices. The institute will be offering various levels of coffee grader and barista certifications. Gruppo Cimbali and ASEAN’s mutual interest in upholding sustainability practices creates a partnership not only dedicated towards the passion for coffee, but in protecting the environment that fuels the sector.

Enrico Bracesco, ceo & managing director of Gruppo Cimbali, states: “At Gruppo Cimbali, we believe in the importance of spreading coffee culture globally. Coffee is both a science and an art that must be studied and understood, and when treated with the care it deserves, it bestows a simple pleasure to be savored from a cup. Our partnership with the ASEAN Coffee Institute grants the coffee community a wonderful opportunity to network with baristas and foster a passion for coffee and the pursuit of innovation. We are proud to support such a platform.”

The Group fully recognizes ASEAN members as fast and growing coffee nations and is renewing its commitment to making its mark in the Asia Pacific area. It looks forward to this, and many more collaborations to come.
