SÃO PAULO, Brazil – The coffee produced by Daterra farm, in the Cerrado Mineiro region, was used by a barista from Switzerland, Emi Fukahori, in the 2018 World Brewers Cup (manual coffee brewing).

It was with Brazilian beans, last Friday (11/9), that she became world champion in the category. It’s the first time that the World Brewers Cup is held in Brazil. It took place in Belo Horizonte during the International Coffee Week (ICW).

DVG De Vecchi

Daterra is known in the industry as a worldwide standard in sustainability. The farm was the first in the world to receive the seal Rainforest Alliance – Level A Certification, the highest sustainability standard certification from Rainforest Alliance.

A producer of specialty coffee, Daterra offered to the winning barista one of its batches, called Frevo, which was specially roasted to the competition. Now, the rest of the lot, of the type Laurina, will be offered in an online auction.
