OMAHA, Neb., USA — Scooter’s Coffee has been awarded a Gold Brandon Hall Group Excellence Award in recognition of training excellence following the redesign of its online learning program for baristas. The 2025 Brandon Hall Group HCM Excellence Awards recognize best practices for initiatives in Learning and Development, Talent Management, Leadership Development, Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Sales Performance, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and the Future of Work.
Scooter’s Coffee took home a Gold award for excellence in the Human Capital Management category for redesigning its eLearning platform to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and engagement for baristas and store managers.
The revamped training now delivers mobile-friendly, streamlined content that improves product knowledge, order accuracy, and sales performance while reducing technical issues.
The revamped training has decreased onboarding time by 63 minutes for new baristas, on average, and reduced support tickets by 56% after removing a single course. It also features content made in partnership with actual baristas and store managers who helped to create content and film videos in-store to help their peers succeed.
Entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group analysts, and executives based on these criteria:
- Alignment to their business need and environment.
- Program design, functionality and delivery.
- Adoption, integration, user experience, innovation and creativity.
- Overall effectiveness, impact, and measurable benefits.
The redesigned training platform was made possible by a cross-functional team at Scooter’s Coffee including National Operations, Training, and Information Technology alongside partners from TrainingPros.
