BONN, Germany – The Board, together with the HR Committee of the Global Coffee Platform, has unanimously appointed Annette Pensel (picture) as the Executive Director of the Global Coffee Platform.
Ted van der Put, Chair of the GCP Board: “After a rigorous search, the GCP Board concluded that Annette’s leadership and considerable experience in the coffee sector, made her an outstanding candidate for the role.
Annette has demonstrated throughout her career the ability to build long-term effective partnerships and comprehensively support coffee stakeholders in achieving positive impact on coffee farming communities.
She is highly respected throughout the coffee world and I look forward to working with her in propelling the Global Coffee Platform forward.”

About Annette Pensel
Ms. Pensel brings more than 10 years of experience in the international coffee sector and in the field of development cooperation, including corporate sustainability, public-private partnerships, voluntary standards development and capacity building.
As the Director Sustainability Innovations of the former 4C Association (and the GCP Interim Executive Director since July 2016), Ms. Pensel was central to the many successful partnerships formed throughout its history, most notably the development of Vision2020, which connected the public and private sectors and creates a common vision for the public and private sectors to work towards in producing countries; and the co-creation of the GCP together with the former Sustainable Coffee Program (SCP).
