Patio Coffee Roasters in Glandore, south-west of Adelaide, have won the milk coffee gold medal at Australia’s Golden Bean Awards.
“It was completely unexpected as it was a brand new one – we only received the crop two weeks before the competition,” head roaster Andrew Mitchell has told The Advertiser.
“It’s a massive compliment and reinforcement of what we do here because it’s about as level of a playing field as you can get at a coffee competition.”
The coffee – an Ethiopian-grown Areka roast – beat more than 400 other entries to win gold.
