The Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) will be hosting, in partnership with Roast Magazine and Atlas Coffee, the first-ever Cupping the World events in Seatlle and Portland.
The events will showcase the #1 coffees from all 11 2017 Cup of Excellence competitions: Brazil Natural & Pulped Natural, Colombia, Perú, Burundi, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and México.
These winning coffees will be grouped by process (Pulped Natural/Natural, Honey and Washed) in a blind cupping and analysed by their flavor attributes.
Executive Director, Darrin Daniel, will lead this cupping and share tidbits about the 2017 Cup of Excellence program and additional information about ACE.
“We will explore these winning lots by their quality of flavor and their uniqueness of processing. Each attendee will also receive a Cup of Excellence W Wright cupping spoon and an opportunity to taste the very best coffees from the Cup of Excellence 2017 cycle,” ACE said in a press release announcing the event.
Cupping the World events will take place on Friday, Dec. 1, at the Atlas Coffee Importers headquarters in Seattle, and on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the ACE lab in Portland, Oregon.
