GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala– As part of its expansion plans in the market, Premium Restaurants of America, Starbucks operating licensee in Guatemala, announced more customers can enjoy the Starbucks Experience in new coffeehouses opening in the vibrant cities of Mazatenango and Flores.

In Mazatenango, known as the cultural heart of the Suchitepéquez department and famous for its lively festivals and rich coffee-growing heritage, the new coffeehouse located at Cityplaza Mazate will offer a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike.

Meanwhile, in Flores—a city in the Petén department celebrated for its colorful colonial architecture and as the gateway to the ancient Maya ruins of Tikal—the new Starbucks Petén coffeehouse located in front of the Mundo Maya Airport will provide a unique spot to relax and connect while exploring one of Guatemala’s most iconic destinations.

Starbucks designs its coffeehouses to enhance the human connection made over a cup of coffee and to reflect the communities it serves.

Starbucks Mazatenango, opening on December 12, is a drive-thru location that features a warm and inviting design inspired by local culture, including handcrafted details and textures that celebrate the region’s heritage, as well as cozy seating areas and community-focused spaces that create a welcoming environment for customers to gather.

Starbucks Petén, opening on December 20, is a drive-thru location that boasts distinctive design elements inspired by Mayan culture and the essence of Petén, including natural wood finishes, handcrafted details, and open, welcoming spaces that reflect the region’s vibrant culture and natural beauty.

Since Starbucks arrived in Guatemala in 2011, with its first coffeehouse in Guatemala City, it remains committed to its Guatemalan customers. Starbucks, in partnership with Premium Restaurants of America, continues to expand in the market and now operates 25 stores across Guatemala City, Antigua, Escuintla, and Chiquimula with over 450 partners proudly wearing the green apron. With the two new coffeehouse openings in Mazatenango and Petén, Starbucks Guatemala will be generating more than100 additional jobs.

“We are thrilled to continue expanding Starbucks presence in Guatemala with the opening of our new stores in Flores and Mazatenango,” said Otto Urquilla, country manager of Starbucks Guatemala. “This milestone reflects our commitment to creating meaningful experiences, fostering human connection, and positively contributing to the communities we serve.
