MILAN – ROEST announces the launch of its new generation sample roaster series—the S200, L200 Plus, and L200 Ultra—marking the company’s most significant product evolution since its founding in 2014. Built on an entirely new platform, the series features advanced control systems, redesigned hardware, and ROEST Connect, professional roasting software designed to evolve with the changing needs of coffee professionals worldwide.
Redesigned platform for the future
Every machine in the new generation shares a unified platform featuring a high-resolution touchscreen with intuitive interface and dark mode, redesigned heating element with improved airflow and extended lifespan, new control board enabling continuous software updates, and 5 GHz WiFi connectivity for enhanced reliability.

“This isn’t just an upgrade; it’s a step forward,” said Trond Simonsen, CEO of ROEST. “The new high-resolution touchscreen and intuitive interface transform how roasters interact with their machines. We’ve created a user experience that feels natural and responsive, whether you’re a seasoned professional or just beginning to explore sample roasting. What we’ve built is a foundation that will grow with our customers for years to come.”
L200 Ultra: built for efficiency and scale
The flagship L200 Ultra introduces capabilities designed for high-volume operations and precision roasting at scale. Soft-launched earlier this year as the L100 Ultra, it now anchors the new generation with expanded capabilities.
Counterflow Mode is a breakthrough feature that enables roasters to optimize operations based on the demands of their business — enabling low-temperature roasting for energy savings and improved flavor development, or accelerating throughput for high-volume operations.
In Counterflow mode, the drum rotates in an anti-clockwise direction, with paddles driving beans directly into the airflow so that air and beans move in opposite directions. The bean mass sits directly over the air inlet, forcing air through the beans for maximum heat absorption and dramatically enhanced heat transfer efficiency.

Scott Rao, coffee consultant and author, highlights the practical impact: “Counterflow mode doubles the heat-transfer efficiency of the Ultra. That gives roasters the option to roast safely in as little as 5:00 per batch — or to roast using much lower temperatures than before. Roasters can now roast faster while producing softer-tasting coffee.”
The L200 Ultra increases throughput capacity to 3 kg per hour—double the previous generation—while maintaining precision through enhanced sensor technology. The machine features a dual bean temperature sensor with optimized probe positions for reliable readings across batch sizes and a new drum pressure sensor for precise airflow control.
Christopher Feran, roasting consultant and owner of Aviary Coffee, shares, “I switched to the ROEST Ultra because it gives me precise, reliable data, even on tiny 50g sample roasts.
The built-in pressure sensor makes it easy to control airflow and calibrate across machines, so I get consistent results every time. It’s efficient too—I can roast more samples per hour without losing quality. For anyone who needs repeatable, dependable results, the ROEST Ultra sets a new standard.”
Commitment to long-term support
While the S100 and L100 Plus models are ending production, ROEST reaffirms its commitment to supporting existing customers with continued access to parts, documentation, and technical support. The company is also offering a trade-in program and loyalty incentives for customers interested in upgrading to the new generation.

“We wouldn’t be here without the feedback and loyalty of our community,” says Simonsen. “Our values haven’t changed; we still believe in creating technology that grows with our customers, machines that can be upgraded and supported long into the future. This new generation gives us the foundation to keep delivering on that promise.”
