World of Coffee Geneva attracted 20,000 attendees and over 460 exhibitors

Alongside the exhibition, there was a rich programme of additional events, including conferences, presentations, practical sessions, networking opportunities, awards and the world finals of four WCE competitions

MILAN – Almost 20,000 attendees from more than 140 countries and over 460 exhibitors attended World of Coffee Geneva, the coffee trade show organized by SCA that took place from 26 to 28 June at the renowned Palexpo. Alongside the exhibition, there was a rich programme of additional events, including conferences, presentations, practical sessions, networking opportunities, awards and the world finals of four WCE competitions (see the article for the results).

The work of 276 volunteers from all over the world contributed to the success of the event.

New for this year was the CEO Roundtable: a 75-minute discussion panel moderated by Krisztina Szalai (Secretary General of the influential Swiss Coffee Shop Association) and Yannis Apostolopoulos (SCA CEO). The CEO Roundtable was attended by: Germán Bahamón, CEO of the Colombian Federation of Coffee Producers; Nicolas Tamari, CEO of Sucafina; Cyrille Jannet, Managing Director of Keurig Trading; and Edwini Kessie, Director of Agriculture and Commodities Division World Trade Organization (WTO).

This year’s Portrait Country honour was awarded to Colombia, recognized for its unwavering commitment to sustainability and its global reputation for high-quality coffee. Colombian exhibitors presented tastings, cultural insights, and innovations that spotlighted the country’s leadership in the global coffee community.

Key Highlights from World of Coffee Geneva

Education Program: Featured over 20 free lectures and 25 hands-on workshops spanning roasting, sourcing, sustainability, business, and marketing.

Roaster Villages: Provided a platform for micro-roasters to share distinctive coffees and foster meaningful connections.

Sustainability Initiatives: Included a tree-planting campaign in Burundi, executed in collaboration with Sucafina and the Kahawatu Foundation, to offset event emissions.

Green Coffee Connect: A specialized program for green coffee professionals, hosted by Barista Attitude, focusing on sourcing strategies and trade insights.

During World of Coffee Geneva, SCA announced the winners of the 2025 Coffee Design Awards. These awards recognize excellence and innovation across the specialty coffee industry and highlight the future of coffee. The winners are:

  • Award Category: Spaces – Winner: Trefoil Coffee Matcha and Art space | Location: Tangerang, Indonesia
  • Award Category: Packaging – Winner: Dark Woods Coffee | Location: Marsden, West Yorkshire, UK
  • Award Category: Branding – Winner: NOOZ | Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

The Best New Product Award recognized equipment, accessories, and technology innovations. A panel of industry experts selected winners based on quality, innovation, and value to specialty coffee professionals and consumers. The winners are:

  • People’s Choice: Winner Coming Soon
  • Coffee Accessories: Subminimal
  • Commercial Coffee Preparation & Serving Equipment: Ubermilk
  • Consumer Coffee Preparation & Serving Equipment: Fellow
  • Open Class: DiFluid

Preparations are already underway for World of Coffee Brussels 2026, scheduled for June 25–27. Exhibitor registration is now open.
