WMF showcases at Internorga MyAppCafé, a robot-controlled coffee station

WMF's biggest highlight at Internorga 2020 is set to be MyAppCafé, a robot-controlled coffee station

GEISLINGEN AN DER STEIGE, Germany – With a robot-controlled coffee station, innovative payment solutions and a new fully automatic machine, WMF is showcasing at Internorga (13th to 17th March, Hamburg Messe, Hall B1.EG, Booth 206) a comprehensive array of what it has to offer as an end-to-end solution provider. Designed to Perform, the new brand signature of WMF Professional Coffee Machines, combines more than 90 years of engineering skill with the foresight of a highly agile future business roadmap.

Now, visitors to Internorga 2020 will have the chance to experience this symbiotic relationship for themselves – as it will be present in every aspect of the Geislingen-based premium manufacturer’s showcase.

The biggest highlight is set to be MyAppCafé, an autonomous coffee station: the first robot barista to be made in Germany, it is the latest showpiece of a new development partnership that WMF is involved in and marks an important milestone on the company’s path towards the future.

Visitors to Hamburg Messe will also discover comprehensive, forward-thinking solutions for the coffee business in the form of new packages for mobile payment and the WMF CoffeeConnect telemetry platform. Last but not least, the WMF 1300 S fully automatic machine will be celebrating its launch in Germany.

Comprehensive solution packages with a focus on future requirements are a hallmark of WMF’s future business roadmap. While the company’s technological ability and coffee expertise enable its customers to benefit from ongoing process improvements and increased sales in their day-to-day business, it is WMF’s digital innovations and international service provision that bring investment security and sustainability.

Through a new development partnership with German company My App Café GmbH, WMF is demonstrating the huge financial opportunities that cutting-edge robotics and automation concepts can deliver. The partnership is focusing on the fully automatic MyAppCafé product – a revolutionary, robot-controlled coffee service solution that is set to be a feature of train stations, airports, universities, hospitals and shopping centres in the future.

“In the process of developing Germany’s first robot barista, we wanted to find a machinery supplier with a range of solutions that represented the very best in reliability and innovative strength. We’ve found that in WMF – a partner that holds a position of unparalleled strength on the market thanks to its premium quality standards made in Germany and the industry’s largest European service network,” says Michael Stille, managing director of My App Café GmbH.

“For visitors to Internorga, our robot barista will be an impressive representation of the route we are pursuing as a full-service solution provider for the coffee business. Customer journey 4.0 – The new WMF payment platform

Customers have come to expect cashless payment options in today’s shopping experiences. Now, the new WMF payment platform provides a comprehensive solution for companies that have an eye on the future and want innovative customer touchpoints to be a feature of their coffee businesses. The platform not only accommodates the preferred payment method, but also offers a whole range of accompanying functions (such as personalised beverage options) in order to adapt fully to the customer’s wishes.

A flexible framework makes it easy to incorporate both payment provider concepts that are widely known on the market and customer-specific solutions or apps. WMF’s new digital platform even features the ability to display individual payment processes in the form of a paper or app-based voucher. Not only that, but it can also be used to control and monitor the ordering and payment concepts built into autonomous coffee stations – like the new MyAppCafé.

Customer-centric engineering

The new WMF 1300 S fully automatic machine will take centre stage in the machine innovations that WMF is showcasing at Internorga. With a recommended daily capacity of up to 120 cups on average, and up to three optionally lockable hoppers, this speciality machine provides a reliable choice wherever coffee is on offer.

The high-performance milk systems ensure that the quality of the beverages remains consistently high, whether they use cold milk, hot milk or hot milk foam.

The machine is enhanced by features including a design concept that provides efficient access for servicing, plus an integrated cup stop for ensuring that cups, mugs and glasses are positioned in exactly the right place. Rounding everything off are the options to customise the colour of the machine housing and set up a link to the WMF CoffeeConnect telemetry solution.
