A feature of Peruvian coffee promotion in Germany are the German roasters’ missions that annually visit Peruvian coffee growing areas in promotional platforms in Peru such as the International Coffee Fair – FICAFE, the ExpoAmazónica Fair, the Coffee and Cocoa Salon, EXPO Café and ExpoAlimentaria.

In Germany, Peruvian coffees participated in World of Coffee, one of the largest specialty coffee fairs in the world, where Peru was the Guest of Honor in its last edition in June 2019.

The best comes from Peru

Peruvian specialty coffees are highly appreciated in the demanding German market, which is a promotional platform for their expansion in Europe. This effort is supported by the positioning of the Cafés del Perú brand, launched in Peru in 2018 as part of the ExpoAmazónica international fair.

Peru is the world’s third largest producer of organic coffee, the eighth largest exporter and the ninth largest producer of conventional coffee. The main destination markets for our coffee in 2019 were the United States, with a market share of 26.7%, followed by Germany (22.7%), Belgium (11.6%), Sweden (5.9%) and Canada (5.1%).

Peruvian coffees are produced in 19 regions of our country, such as San Martin, Junín, Cusco or Puno, which does in turn have iconic tourist attractions such as the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Machu Picchu or the majestic Lake Titicaca.

Cafés del Perú is an industry brand that aims to highlight the magnificent quality of Peruvian coffees and the extraordinary work of producers in the management of their crops, as well as highlighting their sustainability and social inclusion and the global positioning of Peru in the specialty coffee segment.
