The 16th World Barista Championship is in full swing in Seattle. Victoria Arduino, technical partner of the WBC, wanted to celebrate this very special event by creating a short film.
It is a century-long journey beginning in the early years of the twentieth century, a journey on a steam train, whose technology inspired the first espresso machines.
Just like the traveler in the famous poster by Leonetto Cappiello from 1922, the viewer is taken on a time journey to the present day where Victoria Arduino solutions continue to write the history of espresso coffee machines.
A new video whose script goes beyond the usual canons of commercial video. It was made using cinematic logic, with the young people from Officine Mattoli. After the first screening in Seattle the short film can be seen on YouTube.
In the World Barista Championship, the name Victoria Arduino means the official espresso machine. Working with the Victoria Arduino VA388 Black Eagle each competitor prepares four espressos, four cappuccinos and four original drinks designed by themselves, within parameters and inside 15 minutes.
The judges evaluate each performance on the taste of the beverages, cleanliness, creativity, technical ability and, in general, the presentation.
Following the initial selection, the twelve best baristas go through to the semifinals and from these the six finalists are chosen. The final next Sunday (April 12) will crown the new World Barista Champion.
