Swedish roaster Arvid Nordquist inaugurates its new state-of-the art, sustainable coffee plant in Järfälla

The 24 metre high roasting and production facility is 70% timber-framed. The building is Miljöbyggnad Silver certified, which sets high standards for energy efficiency and environmental performance

JÄRFÄLLA, Sweden – Swedish coffee roaster Arvid Nordquist has inaugurated its new coffee roasting plant in Järfälla. The production flow – from roasting and grinding to packaging – is now up and running, and together with experts and specialists the plant has been tested and fine-tuned to ensure the highest quality at every stage.

Processes will be fine-tuned throughout the year and the roastery will be in full production by the end of 2025.

After more than 60 years in Solna, the family business is now taking the next step in its development and building this state-of-the-art coffee roastery in Järfälla.

The new roastery will not only be bigger and more modern, it will also be Sweden’s first coffee roastery built in wood. It represents one of the company’s largest investments to date and focuses on taste, quality and sustainability. All the coffee roasted is 100% certified Arabica beans.

The roasting plant is powered by 100% biogas, which significantly reduces the climate impact compared to fossil fuels. Intelligent energy recovery and digitised processes ensure efficient and future-proof production – without compromising Arvid Nordquist’s renowned quality and taste.
