SLN Coffee unveils Levista, enters retail instant coffee segment in India

MUMBAI, India – SLN Coffee Pvt Ltd, a leading Indian manufacturer and exporter of coffee, entered the retail instant coffee segment with the launch of Levista Coffee. It is the company’s first flagship retail brand, and is made from the finest quality of hand-picked coffee beans from SLN’s own estates in Coorg.

The coffee will initially be available in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

It will be available in three variants – Classic (100 per cent pure coffee), Premium (80 per cent coffee and 20 per cent chicory) and strong (60 per cent coffee and 40 per cent chicory).

Each variant has been developed through extensive research to understand the evolving tastes and preferences of coffee lovers. They will be available in an array of convenient packs, glass jars and sachets of 27 stock-keeping units (SKUs).

Unveiling the Levista range, N Sathappan, managing director, SLN Coffee Pvt Ltd, said, “We are delighted to launch our very own range of instant coffee crafted with love for coffee lovers.”

“Sixty years of in-depth experience in the manufacture of coffee, and 10 years among them spent in perfecting the manufacture of instant coffee for our global clientele have helped us formulate the perfect blends for Levista,” he added.

Sathappan said, “Going forward, we plan to launch the flavour of Levista Coffee across all states in India. Exporting Levista to the neighbouring countries in the next year is also on the cards.”

Talking about the future plans for the brand, P Kathirvelu, national operations head, SLN Coffee Pvt Ltd, said, “Beyond the traditional coffee drinkers, we aim to win the hearts of the growing number of millennials (people aged between and 20 and 35 age) as they discover the joy of Levista.”

“In three years, we aim at a sales of Rs 1,000 million (US$15.5 million), and look forward to increasing our market share by creating a niche for ourselves. We are confident that Levista would win the taste buds of both new and existing coffee drinkers/lovers, and gain a special place for itself as a household name,” he added.
