SCAE – Professional Green Coffee and Sensory training held at the Head Office

SCAE’s lead Sensory Skills and Green Coffee creators, John Thompson, Ludovic Maillard, Edouard Thomas and Andrej Godina conducted a week of Coffee Diploma Professional modules in December to test the new qualification.

A team of invited Authorised SCAE Trainers from Denmark, Spain, USA, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Iceland joined Annemarie Tiemes (Senior Education Coordinator) in completing the practical and written exams in both modules.

All trainers were very impressed with the new curriculum and are confident that these professional courses will provide valuable training and certification for anyone working in those specific areas of the coffee industry, for instance green coffee traders, quality control specialists and consultants.

Marie-Anne Rogers, green coffee buyer at Masteroast, Peterborough and ‘Q Grader’, who attended the courses, said “The Sensory and Green Professional courses provide the full package for coffee professionals wishing to achieve a qualification in the speciality coffee market”.

The Coffee Diploma System professional levels will be available from January 2014 and are central to SCAE’s purpose to improve coffee standards through furthering knowledge and education.
