BERLIN, Germany – Irish Coffee is probably the classic among the coffee drinks and mixed by both bar tenders and laymen. But there are more creative options. After all, boasting over 1,000 different aromas coffee offers just as many variation options for creative minds at the counter. Current top trends: Nitro and Cold Brew. From 7 to 9 October 2019 Bar Convent Berlin will show why coffee has now stopped living in the shadows and is increasingly moving into the limelight at bars.

The latest coffee trends at Bar Convent

Cafeahaus Vertrieb offers coffee as a liquid coffee concentrate while MyCoffeebag proves with its Coffee Bags and Drip Coffee Bags how easily coffee can be brewed by hand using miniature coffee filters. Röststätte Berlin is an award-winning coffee roaster specialising in versatile espresso and filter coffee roasts, Cold Brew and the new premium coffee liquor Cold Brew X. For the Cold Brews of Berlin-based PHILOSOFFEE GmbH only the best, sustainably grown coffees are used and their farmers participate in that success by means of fair prices.

Hot programme on the Coffee Stage

Those wishing to find out how coffee can be successfully incorporated into their own bar concept will receive background information and illustrative examples through the lecture programme on the Coffee Stage in Hall 4. Over all three trade fair days experts will share their knowledge and tips here. This forum is about imparting basic knowledge such as the use of espresso as an ingredient in coffee drinks, but also about inspiration.

Timon Kaufmann will explain how to mix the perfect cocktail with coffee. He is considered one of the leading experts for coffee in combination with cocktails. A sensorial appreciation of coffee and spirits will come care of the talk between Timon Kaufmann, Reinhard Pohorec, Kannes Fendrick and Simone K. “Cascara – the banned ingredient” will be the theme addressed by Romyna Robledo y Mendez. Next to coffee, tea is also being increasingly appreciated in bars. Explaining how to create tea-infused cocktails will be Raymund Peters while Ali Vogel – the “Latte Art Champion” will talk about the art of milk foam as an eye-catcher for bars.

Coffee as a catalyst for sales and a driver of innovations will also be covered in the lecture programme.
