MILAN – Nestlé is stepping up investment in its Vietnamese factory in Tri An, Đồng Nai province, in the south of the country. In fact, the Swiss multinational has announced that it will spend an additional $75 million, bringing its total commitment to this single production site to USD 175 million for the 2024-2025 biennium.
The announcement was made during the company’s celebration of marking 30 years in Vietnam, where it was honoured to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for its outstanding contributions to promoting agricultural and rural development in Vietnam from 2019 to 2024.
Binu Jacob, General Director of Nestlé Vietnam, was quoted as saying: “This expansion investment is a testament to Nestlé’s belief in Vietnam’s development potential. It is not only an investment to expand operations, but also a long-term commitment to accompany Vietnam in its growth era.”
The Tri An facility is Nestlé’s most technologically advanced and exports its production to some 30 countries around the world.
It is the only factory capable of producing the full range of Nescafé, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Nespresso, Blue Bottle and Starbucks brands. It is also the largest producer of decaffeinated products for Nestlé globally.
Nestlé has been in Vietnam since 1995. In 30 years, the company has invested more than $900 million in Vietnam.
In other news, The Swiss multinational Nestlé’s Spanish subsidiary has recently announced an investment of €15 million in its Nescafé factory, which produces instant coffee and Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsules, in Girona near Barcelona. The aim is to develop more recyclable packaging.
