MILAN – Latte art is simpler for everyone, especially inside the home: whether it is the barista behind the kitchen counter, or the barista behind the counter in a café, there is a tool that makes whipping milk easier, with the result on the same level as a steam wand. This all starts with an initial prototype designed by Dominic, founder and designer of the company Subminimal: the Kickstarter campaign to fund NanoFoamer starts in 2020.
NanoFoamer, as the name suggests, a milk frother
A small battery-operated device with a propeller attached to a stick and a mesh to froth milk and incorporate it into the drink evenly.
NanoFoamer has been an immediate success, due to its technical superiority over the many milk frothers on the market. It is true that its cost is higher than some of the alternatives on the market (even 10 euros on Amazon), but it is equally evident to all those who have used it, that the price is worth the quality of the result in the cup.
For around 46 euros (shipped worldwide), the NanoFoamer is capable of whipping milk and vegetable drinks in a professional manner, without the difficulties that consumers often face if they are not familiar with the steam wand or, even more frequent among home baristas, have espresso machines that lack it (one model that comes to mind is the Flair Espresso).
Therefore, to complete the experience of an authentic coffeelover, Subminimal not only created this tool, but then developed it into its next model, the NanoFoamer in its rechargeable lithium-ion battery version rechargeable via USB-C., in 2022 and with double speed.

There has also been an evolution in terms of materials, with polycornate – more suitable and safe for food contact and long-lasting -.
The efficiency of the Nanofoamer is due to its whipping mechanism that creates microscopic bubbles and consequently imparts a bar-like texture and consistency with both cow’s milk and vegetable drinks.
In addition, a latte art masterclass is included with every purchase.

There is the possibility of using three different types of grids to achieve a different aeration of the desired drink for a more or less elongated result (superfine, fine or ordinary). After about 20 seconds, place the stick in the centre of the jug and move it to the sides. At this point, the whipped, creamy milk is ready for more or less creative latte artists.
What’s more…NanoFoamers are also easy to clean, given the fact that they are waterproof, so you only need to rinse them off quickly after using them.
It didn’t end there, because NanoFoamers basically had an extra step: heating the milk separately before it was whipped
Problem solved with Subminimal’s latest invention: the NanoFoamer Pro (at 190 euros) combines the technology of the NanoFoamers with lithium, integrating it inside a kind of milk kettle, which synchronises the heating phase with that of the frothing, along with the extraction of the espresso.
In this case, the operation is even simpler at the touch of a button.
Thus, the NanoFoamer PRO creates micro-foam milk in three steps.
It starts by preheating the milk to a certain temperature and stirring slowly. Then the speed increases to incorporate air into the milk. Finally, in order to find the right balance, NanoFoamer slows down, drawing the embedded bubbles to the bottom and pulverising them through the rotating NanoScreens.
This new tool is able to create a perfectly balanced vortex to ensure a homogeneous mixture, without incorporating more air.
