NAMA – Emerging Leaders Network (ELN) Steering Committee announced

CHICAGO, US – NAMA announced today the formation of the Emerging Leaders Network (ELN) Steering Committee. The Steering Committee was selected from a group of many qualified ELN members.

ELN Chair Paul Tullio led the formation of the Steering Committee to provide broader participation in leadership-related activities for future ELN developments. The members of the ELN Steering Committee are as follows:

IAMA host legislative day

The Iowa Automatic Merchandising Association (IAMA) recently hosted a legislative day at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines.

The event was held in conjunction with the IAMA annual meeting.

The legislative day was coordinated by Steve Roberts, IAMA Legislative Consultant. A dozen IAMA members hosted a breakfast for legislators where they were able to speak with lawmakers about the vending and refreshment services industry.

There were six state senators and 13 representatives in attendance. NAMA’s Sr. Director and Counsel Sandy Larson also attended.

“The Legislative Day was an excellent opportunity for IAMA members to educate and interact with their legislators,” Larson said.

“This is the first year that IAMA has had a legislative event and it was an excellent opportunity for our members to establish relationships with their legislators that we can build on in the future.” IAMA President Chuck Tuttle was pleased with the event.

“Our Legislative day was a huge success for IAMA and the vending, coffee and refreshment services industry in Iowa,” Tuttle said. “The event was very well received by the Legislators. It was a great opportunity to meet with our representatives to educate them about our industry.”

IAMA held its annual meeting at Raccoon River Brewing Company in Des Moines.

Special guests in attendance included Rod Roberts, Director of the Iowa Department of Inspections and ; Mark Speltz, the Training Specialist for the Iowa Department of Inspections Appeals Food and Consumer Safety Bureau; and NAMA Board of Directors member Jim Brinton, of Avanti Market.

The focus of he meeting was to educate the Director and Training Specialist about Micro Markets and to lay the foundation for future discussions related to regulation of micro markets at the state level.

Founded in 1936, NAMA is the national association for the $42 billion U.S. vending and refreshment services industry.
