Melitta Group acquires a 70% stake in Italian specialty coffee roaster Corsino Corsini

MILAN – Melitta Group has acquired a 70% stake in Corsino Corsini S.p.A., an Italian family-owned coffee roaster established in 1950 in Arezzo. Under the agreement, the present governance will stay in charge company’s operations will remain independent. “We are looking forward to working with Caffè Corsini” commented Jero Bentz, a Chief Corporate Management of Melitta Group”.

Since the 1980s, Silvano Corsini, Corsino’s son, took over the family business with great determination. He grows professionally like the company, after graduating in Economics at the University of Florence, amidst bags of green coffee from all over the world and human relations that allow him a privileged observatory on reality.

The internationally operating and family-owned Melitta Group can look back on over 100 years of history.

It is named after Melitta Bentz (1873–1950) who founded the company after she invented the drip brew paper coffee filter (German patent granted July 8, 1908). Bentz later ran the company as a family business.

The company is headquartered in Minden, North Rhine-Westphalia.

With over 100 years of company history, Melitta Group owes its success to the ability to anticipate market trends and to develop pioneering products which make life more enjoyable, more convenient and much easier.

Despite challenges related to the corona pandemic, the past financial year was a successful one for the Melitta Group, with sales amounting to 1.7 billion euros.
