Marley Coffee renews partnership in EU to support long-term growth

DENVER, U.S. – Marley Coffee has renewed a multi-year deal with MCEU Limited to distribute and market Marley Coffee’s range of retail, foodservice and capsule coffee across the European Union.

The five-year deal was struck with MCEU Limited on 28 May 2015 to strengthen the success of Marley Coffee’s first launch into Europe in 2012.

Marley Coffee is currently distributed in the UK, Ireland, France, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Russia, with more European distribution deals to be announced shortly. MCEU Limited represents the brand across multiple channels, including retail, foodservice, hospitality, and online sales.

This follows an expansion of distribution in the UK with the number of distributors in the independent grocery/health food space increasing from four to seven. Marley Coffee is on track to hit another milestone in Europe with its first major supermarket listing.

The company is pursuing the EU single serve market with the development of biodegradable and recyclable Nespresso compatible capsules. Guy Wilmot, Brand Manager at Marley Coffee UK said,

“Similarly to Marley Coffee’s launch of the innovative EcoCup recyclable capsules which addresses single serve waste in the predominant brewing system in the US and Canada, we feel there is a significant opportunity to offer a better choice for consumers who love the convenience of Nespresso single serve, but are also are environmentally aware.

We hope that the launch will be the catalyst to get us widespread grocery distribution here, in the same way EcoCup is supporting retail penetration in the US.”
