LIMA, Peru – Lagardère Travel Retail proudly announces the grand opening of its new commercial spaces in the new terminal of Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru, following two years of construction at the airport and close collaboration with Lima Airport Partners.
This major milestone includes the inauguration of 4,000m² of duty free and duty paid retail, and an unprecedented 3,300m² dining area, establishing “Nación Sazón – The Land of Flavours”, Latin America’s newest and freshest hub for local cuisine.
Throughout the entire period leading up to the opening, the Lagardère Travel Retail Peru teams dedicated themselves to meeting Lima Airport Partners’ expectations and realizing their vision: a modern terminal renowned as Latin America’s premier airport for gastronomy, , inviting travelers to transfer in Lima and savor a unique culinary experience during their journey.
As a first in Latin America, the departure duty free area features “El Mixólogo,” a cocktail and tapas bar where passengers can enjoy expertly crafted last-minute cocktails made from the finest local ingredients, as well as purchase bottles to recreate these unique flavors at home. Moreover, Lagardère Travel Retail proudly introduces the Latin Americas’ first VIP Room within a Duty Free shop.
The design of the Departures Duty Free shop pays tribute to Peru’s rich diversity, incorporating patterns and colors inspired by the coastal region, highlands, Andes mountains, and Amazonian forest—creating an immersive and authentic shopping atmosphere.
Celebrating Peruvian gastronomy with top local chefs
The new F&B offer from Lagardere Travel Retail features 13 units, including 9 leading Peruvian brands, carefully curated to reflect the country’s rich and vibrant culinary heritage. Among them are exclusive concepts developed with two of South America’s most celebrated chefs:
- SAKAI by Mitsuharu Tsumura, Chef at Maido (No. 5, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024), blends Japanese and Peruvian flavors with a Nikkei-inspired concept including sushi, chicken and teriyaki dishes.
- CALLAO by Jaime Pesaque, Chef at Mayta (No. 41, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024), brings a fresh seafood experience inspired by the coastal district of Callao.
