TRIESTE, Italy – illy, a symbol of Italian excellence in the world, is the official coffee of the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka. The Italian Pavilion, themed “Art Regenerates Life,” will showcase a vibrant and regenerative ecosystem that reflects the aesthetic beauty, creativity, culture, and craftsmanship that define Italy.

“Being part of such a prestigious event as Expo 2025 is a great honor for us,” said Cristina Scocchia, CEO of illycaffè. “illycaffè represents the harmony of tradition and innovation, quality and sustainability, art and science – making it a true ambassador of Italian beauty and taste around the world.”

“The Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka is a strategic platform where cultural heritage and industrial expertise come together,” said Mario Vattani, Commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka. “illy’s participation highlights an essential aspect of our national identity: a culture of taste that blends excellence, environmental awareness, and social responsibility.”

Visitors to the Pavilion will have the opportunity to taste illy ’s Arabica Selection Brasile Cerrado Mineiro, the first coffee made from regenerative agriculture and certified by regenagri®. Developed in collaboration with local producers in Brazil’s Cerrado Mineiro region, this coffee offers notes of caramel and nuts and is cultivated using best-in-class regenerative practices.

illycaffè has long been committed to transitioning from an extractive, linear model to a regenerative, circular society. A key focus of the company’s sustainability efforts is mitigating climate change across the entire supply chain, starting with coffee cultivation. Regenerative agriculture not only helps farmers adapt to the effects of climate change – threatening over 50% of arable land worldwide – but also contributes to reversing its impact by enriching soil organic matter, enhancing fertility, water retention, and natural resilience.

In the Pavilion’s VIP Lounge, guests will be able to enjoy illy ’s iconic blend, made from the top 1% of Arabica beans selected from over 20 countries worldwide.

As part of its educational mission, illy’s UniversitĂ  del Caffè – the company’s international center of excellence dedicated to promoting a global culture of quality coffee – will host eight masterclasses in the Pavilion’s auditorium. Topics will include sustainable production practices, the complexity of coffee aromas, and the art of tasting.

“Representing the culture of coffee around the world inspires us to keep innovating and striving for ambitious sustainability goals,” added Scocchia. “Expo 2025 is a powerful platform for sharing our passion and commitment to a more conscious, regenerative future.”

With its presence at Expo 2025, illycaffè aims to offer visitors not just a taste of its exclusive Arabica Selection Brasile Cerrado Mineiro, but a deeper experience – one rooted in taste, beauty, and sustainability through engaging cultural and educational initiatives.
