The Hershey Company announced last week that Humberto (Bert) P. Alfonso, 57 (in the picture), President, International, intends to retire from the company by the end of June. The company is working with Alfonso to ensure a seamless transition and expects to announce its succession plan at the end of the month.
“Bert has led our International business for the last two years, laying the foundation for future growth in these important markets,” said John P. Bilbrey, Chairman, President and CEO, The Hershey Company.
“Prior to his international leadership, Bert led our financial organization, instilling strong discipline and accountability across the organization. We are grateful for his years of leadership and service and wish him and his family all of the best.”
“We have an experienced management team, great talent throughout the organization and the right vision, strategy and brands to win wherever we compete. As we look to the future, we have confidence that our business model positions Hershey for continued growth in both North America and key international markets,” Bilbrey continued.
