MILAN – What’s the most unusual place you can find and enjoy a perfect cup of authentic espresso coffee? On the high-altitude slopes of Mount Everest. LaCimbali, the historic brand of Gruppo Cimbali, one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of professional coffee machines, makes its way to the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, to offer climbers real high-quality espresso coffee.
On the border between China and Nepal, at an altitude of 5,400 meters stands the first base camp, on the Nepalese slope of Everest, at the foot of the Khumbu Glacier: here, a helicopter dropped off the LaCimbali M23 UP (in the picture, just installed and it still to be discarded) the espresso machine that symbolizes elegance, innovation and versatility.
LaCimbali M23 UP is ergonomic, sturdy and made entirely of steel
With its fixed-nozzle thermosyphon system, it reliably guarantees high-level performance, even at this incredible altitude! In fact, even though water has a lower boiling point at these heights, LaCimbali’s extraordinary performance means coffee is always perfectly brewed, so people at the base camp can enjoy an exemplary authentic espresso.
Handling everyday activities and logistical challenges, the camp hosts hundreds of climbers each spring as they prepare and get acclimated to the altitude before attempting to scale the 8,848-meter peak – a 3-5 expedition, after which they return to recover in the relative comfort of the camp, where the air is still dense but they can enjoy a refreshment spot, all the more appreciated now that they can find excellent coffee here.
Gruppo Cimbali’s historic brand is unphased by obstacles, and is always ready to take on new challenges with an eye towards the future, as in this case: altitude – even the record height of Mount Everest – is no problem when professionalism and quality ensure an excellent cup of coffee every time. This project is born by a collaboration between Gruppo Cimbali and the distributor in Nepal One House Solution.
With over 100 years of history behind it, LaCimbali is a symbol of excellence made in Italy in the design and manufacture of professional equipment for milk-based espresso coffee beverages. LaCimbali offers a full range of products (traditional and super-automatic machines, grinder/dispensers and accessories) to meet the needs of professionals in the coffee sector.
The brand is part of Gruppo Cimbali, a leader in the design and manufacture of professional machines for coffee, fresh-milk-based beverages and soluble beverage and café equipment.
The Gruppo, which comprises the brands La Cimbali, Faema, Slayer and Casadio, has three production plants in Italy and one in the U.S. (in Seattle, where Slayer machines and products are made), with a total of over 700 employees.
