BUCHAREST, Romania — The Romanian unit of online food delivery platform foodpanda said on Thursday it would start to deliver coffee from over 40 partner cafes this month. At first, the service will be only available in Bucharest, but foodpanda plans to expand it to cities like Cluj-Napoca, Iași or Timișoara, the company said in a press release.
According to foodpanda representatives, the coffee delivery service represents a new line of business, complementary to the food delivery service already available in several countries in which the company’s owner Delivery Hero Group operates.
Through the new service, foodpanda Romania mainly addresses clients who work in offices.
“We launched the new service in order to offer our customers the opportunity to enjoy their favorite coffee through a simple order from office or home. Also, through this initiative we offer an additional sales channel to our partners, meant to increase their businesses,” Delivery Hero Romania managing director Andreea Petrisor said.
Present in Romania since 2013, foodpanda is currently collaborating with more than 1500 restaurants in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Iași, Brasov, Constanta, Arad, Ploiești, Oradea, Galați, Craiova, Sibiu, Pitești, Târgu Mureș and Baia Mare.
