BENGALURU, India – CCL Products (India) Ltd. has introduced UK-based premium coffee brand Percol to the Indian market, following CCL’s acquisition in 2023, the company said in a press release on Monday. Prior to acquisition, Percol’s Instant coffee blends for the UK market were developed by CCL Products (India) Ltd. and when the brand was offered for sale in the UK, CCL doubled down on this strategic opportunity of acquiring a brand they had been deeply associated with, understood well and recognized its core value proposition.

Driven by a vision of taking the brand global, CCL acquired Percol and has now launched the brand in the Indian market.

Founded in 1987 by Brian Chapman, Percol was the first coffee brand in the UK to earn Fairtrade certification.

Its entry into India comes at a time when urban professionals and coffee enthusiasts are increasingly valuing provenance, quality, and thoughtful packaging, the release added.

The launch introduces three freeze-dried instant coffees — Intenzo, Da Essenza, and Espresso Noir — each crafted with beans sourced from Colombia, Vietnam, and other coffee-growing regions. H

“The Indian coffee landscape is evolving rapidly, with consumers increasingly seeking sophisticated flavours and meaningful brand experiences,” said Praveen Jaipuriar, CEO, CCL Products (India) Ltd. “Percol represents not just premium coffee, but a philosophy that resonates with today’s nuanced consumer, who is particular about the sophistication, depth and the value of the products they consume”.

Percol’s premium instant coffees are now available on major e-commerce platforms and in select supermarkets across India, with an initial focus on Tier-1 cities in North and West India.
