PARIS – On Monday, September 15, 2025, the medal ceremony for the 11ᵗʰ International “Coffees Roasted at Origin” Contest organized by AVPA-Paris took place at the prestigious Paris Coffee Show (Parc Floral de Paris), attended by numerous producers from all over the world.

The virtuous circle of roasting at Origin

This edition once again confirmed AVPA’s philosophy: promoting local transformation. Roasting coffee in their countries of origin enables producers to taste their own product, which encourages a constant improvement in the quality of the harvests.

Beyond physico-chemical criteria, the world of organoleptic subtleties is also standing out, giving coffee full recognition as a gastronomic product crafted directly by roasters in producing countries. We extend our heartfelt thanks to them.

Key Figures for the 2025 Edition

  • Nearly 200 coffees in contest
  • 85 coffees from 16 countries awarded

Medal tally

  • Gourmet Gold  12
  • Gourmet Silver 17
  • Gourmet Bronze 16
  • Gourmet Medal 40

A panel of experts for a gastronomic coffee

The coffees were classified into 10 organoleptic categories (acidic, fruity, woody, floral, spicy, etc.) and evaluated in blind tastings by a jury chaired by Nir CHOUCHANA. Once again this year, the exceptional and ever-improving quality of the coffees was unanimously praised by the jurors.

A highlight of the Paris Coffee Show

The hallmark of this 11ᵗʰ edition was the presence of most of the winners in Paris, who came especially to receive their awards and celebrate the diversity of terroirs. AVPA warmly thanks the members of the diplomatic corps who attended the ceremony.

Their active participation and unwavering support helped showcase the work of producers from their respective countries. Their presence in Paris alongside the winners illustrates the growing importance of origin coffees in economic and cultural diplomacy, and strengthens ties between producing nations and the international gastronomic scene.

Acknowledgements and looking ahead

AVPA sincerely thanks all the producers who place their trust in us by submitting their coffees and supporting the Association.

We would also like to thank our long-standing sponsors — including CONTI machines, Delonghi, and BRITA water filtration systems — as well as the Café Collective, organizer of the Paris Coffee Show, which hosted the award ceremony during France’s largest coffee event.

To all these producers, AVPA wishes a prosperous 2025/26 coffee year and looks forward to welcoming them again for the 12ᵗʰ International Contest in 2026.
