FORT COLLINS, CO – Arboretum Coffee, a nonprofit coffee shop and social enterprise in the heart of Fort Collins, is proud to celebrate its one-year anniversary on January 22, 2025. Over the past year, Arboretum Coffee has served not just exceptional coffee, but also meaningful opportunities for refugees and immigrants through its unique apprenticeship program.
“Our mission has always been about more than coffee,” said Hannah Norris, Executive Director of Arboretum Coffee. “This past year, we’ve seen lives transformed as apprentices have gained skills, confidence, and connections to thrive in their new community. We’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone with the community that has supported us every step of the way.”
Arboretum Coffee’s 12-month paid apprenticeship program equips refugees and immigrants with technical training, workplace readiness, and holistic support for community integration. In its first year, the organization has:
- Trained and mentored 8 apprentices from diverse backgrounds.
- Increased apprentice earning power, with 100% building social capital and 75% gaining above-minimum-wage employment post-graduation.
- Created a welcoming space for over 1,000 customers to connect and support a mission-driven enterprise.
To celebrate this milestone, the company invites the community to visit the shop on Wednesday, January 22, for a day of gratitude and celebration. Guests can enjoy free mini croissants with every purchase, a $20 gift card giveaway, and the chance to connect with the team behind Arboretum Coffee.
