Alberto Vacchi, Chairman of Ima, receives Italy’s Order of Merit for Labour

BOLOGNA, Italy — Alberto Vacchi, Chairman of IMA, received the honour of Cavaliere del Lavoro (Order of Merit for Labour) from the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, during a ceremony held on 8 November 2018 in the splendid setting of the Palazzo del Quirinale.

A law graduate and industrialist, Alberto Vacchi has been CEO of IMA S.p.A. since 1996 and Chairman of the Board since 2007.

Alberto Vacchi has led IMA’s growth by focusing on innovation and quality, applying a Group policy of strong international expansion. Today IMA holds genuine world leadership in the field of automatic packaging machines, with revenues of 1.44 billion euros and over 6,000 employees.

Alberto Vacchi was President of Unindustria Bologna for the period 2011-2015 and guided the merger with Confindustria Modena and Unindustria Ferrara in 2015-2017. Alberto Vacchi was elected President of Confindustria Emilia Area Centro for the first two-year period.

The Cavaliere del Lavoro honour was established in 1901 and is awarded each year on Republic Day to Italian entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves in a number of sectors: agriculture, industry, commerce, craftsmanship, banking and insurance.
