Virtual Buyer Seller/Business Networking Meet held at the Embassy of India in Rome

ROME, Italy – A Virtual Buyer Seller/Business Networking Meet was organized on September 21st by the Embassy of India, Rome along with the Coffee Board of India. The event witnessed significant participation from leading Italian Coffee importers like Illycaffe, Lavazza, Mokito, Kimbo, Esse Caffee, etc. The Indian green Coffee exporters like Woodpeckers Coffee, Devon Plantations and other traders participated in the virtual event.

The meeting was addressed by Smt. Neeharika Singh, Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Mario Bruscino, Vice-President of the Italian Coffee Committee, Mr. N.N. Narendra, Director of Finance, Coffee Board, Dr. K.G. Jagadeesha, CEO & Secretary, Coffee Board and Dr. K. Basavaraj, Consultant, Coffee Quality, Coffee Board of India.

During the event, a presentation on Coffees of India highlighting the various production methods of Coffee in India including Arabica and Robusta varieties was detailed by the Coffee Board of India. An e-booklet was also released during the occasion by Dr. K.G. Jagadeesha, CEO & Secretary of Coffee Board of India.

The event was followed by a fruitful business networking session wherein the requirements of the Italian Coffee buyers and prospective Indian Coffee exporters were deliberated upon.

Italy is the 3rd largest coffee consumer in the world and Indian Coffee varieties such as Arabica and Robusta have a special place in the roasteries across Italy.

India has exporting green coffee beans to Italy in the past 3 decades and through the Virtual Buyer Seller Meets the Embassy expects the Coffee trade to further reach greater heights in future.
