BONN, Germany – The 4C Association is revising its Code of Conduct.  Between March and mid-May, 4C is holding an open consultation to listen to the views and suggestions from all stakeholders or interested parties.

The 4C Code of Conduct has been implemented for six years by now, and the time has come to do a second revision, taking into account the lessons learnt so far and the current needs of those working with the Code. We plan to publish the new version in 2015.

The 4C Association is the leading multi-stakeholder sustainable coffee platform, guiding the mainstream sector toward more sustainable production in a pre-competitive arena where all relevant stakeholders are enabled to participate.

The 4C Code of Conduct

The members of the 4C Association have developed the 4C Code of Conduct, which sets social, environmental and economic principles for the sustainable production, processing and trading of green coffee.

The 4C Code has a moderate entry level, including the exclusion of ten Unacceptable Practices, and commits participants to continuous improvement.
