In a statement, Pot Noodle said the 21 year-old Polizzi launched her prototype in Las Vegas a few days ago when the city was hosting the Consumer Electronics Show attended by various companies.

The Kettle Kup allows people to have hot water ‘anytime, anywhere’ and Pot Noodle has helped Polizzi to ‘make it’ for real, as the product was showcased at the show.

The invention is set to help those who don’t have time to waste waiting for their caffeine hit. Polizzi, who is a student at the University of Bath in Belfast, was chosen from over 80 entrants in the Pot Noodle #YouCanMakeIt competition.

She submitted her idea for a portable and rechargeable ‘Kettle Kup’ in October last year. “Two months later, Pot Noodle has helped Bianca to make it for real, turning the idea from a 140 character tweet into a working prototype and showcasing it on the biggest stage possible,” said pot Noodle.

According to the company, the Kettle Kup has been in development over the last two months, with product designers drawing up Computer-Aided Design (CAD) diagrams of the product and “working with Bianca to enhance the design further, including the addition of a compartment to hold tea, coffee or sugar and a slot for a stirrer.

Polizzi spent a week introducing the Kettle Kup to thousands of technical and innovation experts attending the infamous CES – a show known for launching some of the biggest innovations and ideas of recent times.

Over 80 would-be inventors entered the Pot Noodle #YouCanMakeIt competition and Polizzi was one of three finalists. She was shortlisted alongside an idea for a full body dryer and a GPS-enabled travel pillow alarm clock.

Over 450 people voted for Polizzi to win the competition which involved taking a once in a lifetime trip to Las Vegas.

Speaking from Las Vegas, Polizzi said, “I’ve made it for real now! It was only a few months ago that I sat at University trying to think of the best time-saving ideas and now I’m showcasing the concept. To be in Las Vegas amongst so many inspiring people is incredible and I hope the Kettle Kup has caught the attention of people who want to save precious minutes each day.

“It can also help those who don’t want to spend so much money on take-away coffees. They can instead have a hot beverage at the click of a button – anywhere, anytime.”

This is the second time Pot Noodle has been seen in Las Vegas in the last six months as the latest #YouCanMakeIt TV advert featured ‘ring boy’ Michael Moran making it in a boxing ring.

Pot Noodle Marketing Manager, Monique Rossi, said: “Launching a new idea in Las Vegas is the pinnacle of making it and we’re delighted to have helped Bianca on this incredible journey. If a product can save people time in today’s 24/7 world then you’re onto a winner.

“The Kettle Kup could, in the future, be a staple to people’s lives meaning that they don’t need to wait in the kitchen for a kettle to boil or stand aimlessly in the coffee queue for a morning caffeine hit. We hope Las Vegas loves the Kettle Kup as much as we do! Pot Noodle means less time cook and more time winning – Bianca is a prime example of this.”

This is the latest story of Pot Noodle helping someone to ‘make it’ having previously put the TV ad star, Michael Moran, in a boxing ring for real at London’s O2 Arena as a ring boy prior to the Anthony Joshua v Gary Cornish fight.

The Pot Noodle #YouCanMakeIt competition was launched after the brand originally backed Valdis Krumins, the inventor of the NoodVamp – a spoon attachment that grips noodles to eliminate those sliding off the spoon moments.

Pot Noodle has produced 2,000 NoodVamps – which have also been taken to Vegas to show hungry Americans how they can save time whilst eating noodles.
